It is easy to get caught up in analytics when you own a business. There is so much to learn from numbers, charts and projections. But CEOs of some of the largest companies will admit that their gut feelings have played a big part in many of their most lucrative business decisions. So what place do impressions, inspirations and intuitions have in business? Well first let’s define them using Oxford Languages.

  • Impressions: an idea, feeling, or opinion about something or someone, especially one formed without conscious thought or on the basis of little evidence.
  • Inspiration: a sudden brilliant, creative, or timely idea.
  • Intuition: the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning.

There is an undercurrent of life that so many people are missing out on because they aren’t taking time to really see it. When you take time to feel you remove the governor on your mind which allows you to operate on a higher level. A level where you CAN have an immediate understanding of something despite reasoning or conscious thought. It creates space for you to have impressions, inspiration and intuition. When you connect your mind and heart and really listen to these things you will have ample opportunity to practice discernment. In time you will be able to identify which feelings should be acted on and what your next steps should be. Many business owners only rely on what they know but the fact is that we all know far less than we think we do. When you take time to both understand with your mind and feel with your heart then you will have an incredible edge on your competition.

The reality is that we live in a society that is so busy that we have forgotten to connect our heart and mind.  Doing so takes time, practice and stillness. Stillness can feel almost evil to some. How can you pause when you could be doing something to progress!? But we are here to tell you stillness can result in PROGRESS. So take time to look inward instead of acting outward and see how things in your life and your business begin to change!
